The Kennel

My name is Kerstin (Shastin) Sjöstedt. I'm a vetrinarian with my own practice, Karaby Hundrehab & Smådjursmottagning, since 2002. My focus is on dog rehabilitation using swim training among other methods.

I have had dogs since 1969. My first dog was a standard poodle called Patrick whom I competed with. In 1976 I brought home Targe, a black Flat-coated Retriever, whom I took a hunting course with. I also had two litters from her.

During my eleven years in Italy I had two Bergamascos, Isabella and Douglas (mother and son). Through them I became fascinated with herding dogs and took the next step with a Bearded Collie, Kevin, whom I brought home the summer of 1995.

The goal in my breeding program is to raise mentally stable and functionally healthy dogs. Exteriors are also important since they are connected with movement capabilities.
